BIO

Andrea Buckvold is an artist + educator in Syracuse, NY.  She received a Master of Science degree in Art Education Preparation at Syracuse University, while also running a studio+lab space where kids explore hands on creativity projects. 

 

She also holds a Master of Fine Art degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Bachelor of Art degree with a minor in Film Studies from Colorado College. 

 

She has taught at various institutions around the country, including Syracuse University, Southern Illinois University- Carbondale, Community College of Southern Nevada, and the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  Simultaneously, she has served as an arts enrichment instructor at Erwin Nursery School and Parkside Children’s Center in Syracuse, Evanston Art Center in Illinois, and the Bemis School of Art for Children in Colorado.  

 

Andrea has also served in various roles at several non-profit arts institutions, such as Carbondale Community Arts, Liberace Museum, Guggenheim Las Vegas/Guggenheim Hermitage, 3-D Chicago/Pier Walk Exhibition, and Tandem Press.

 

In her own artistic practice, Andrea pursues ideas which result in multi-media investigations. She is currently focused on ideas centering on the environment and climate action.
